Hubert Biberger's love of art was born in Europe and has come to influence his own work through
the feelings art inspired in him during his childhood.  He was born in Bad Mergentheim, Germany in 1947.
At an early age his talent for painting was apparent and by age fifteen he had sold his first paintings which were oil on board.
He immigrated to Canada as a young man in 1969. He has lived in British Columbia and Alberta and since 1995
has been living in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island.

His early training came from a dedicated art teacher who recognized his natural talent.
Taking Hubert under his wing this teacher challenged and encouraged him to develop his skills and to study the great masters.

It was in Canada that Hubert first took up the more challenging medium of watercolor in which medium he now paints exclusively.
Hubert has always been an ardent nature enthusiast and has spent many hours in the out-of-doors observing light, shape and color.
As is readily apparent in his watercolors, this love of the outdoors transposes itself into a
brilliant reflection of color and broad sweeping strokes of the brush.

Hubert has exhibited his work in:
